چکیده

In this work, we analyze the discrete in time 3D system for the globally modified Navier–Stokes equations introduced by Caraballo (2006) [1]. More precisely, we consider the backward implicit Euler scheme, and prove the existence of a sequence of solutions of the resulting equations by implementing the Galerkin method combined with Brouwer’s fixed point approach. Moreover, with the aid of discrete Gronwall’s lemmas we prove that for the time step small enough, and the initial velocity in the domain of the Stokes operator, the solution is H2 uniformly stable in time, depends continuously on initial data, and is unique. Finally, we obtain the limiting behavior of the system as the parameter N is big enough. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Scientific Flow Field Simulation of Cruciform Missiles Through the Thin Layer Navier Stokes Equations

The thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations are solved for two complete missile configurations on an IBM 3090-200 vectro-facility supercomputer. The conservation form of the three-dimensional equations, written in generalized coordinates, are finite differenced and solved on a body-fitted curvilinear grid system developed in conjunction with the flowfield solver. The numerical procedure is based on ...

Three-Dimensional System of Globally Modified Navier-Stokes Equations with Delay

Resumen We first study the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions of a three dimensional system of globally modified Navier-Stokes equations with delay in the locally Lipschitz case. The asymptotic behaviour of solutions, and the existence of pullback attractor are also analyzed.

A comparative study between two numerical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations

The present study aimed to investigate two numerical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations. For this purpose, the mentioned flow equations were written in two different formulations, namely (i) velocity-pressure and (ii) vorticity-stream function formulations. Solution algorithms and boundary conditions were presented for both formulations and the efficiency of each formulation was investiga...

High order exactly divergence-free Hybrid Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for unsteady incompressible flows

In this paper we present an efficient discretization method for the solution of the unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations based on a high order (Hybrid) Discontinuous Galerkin formulation. The crucial component for the efficiency of the discretization method is the disctinction between stiff linear parts and less stiff non-linear parts with respect to their temporal and spatial treatm...

Modified Nodal Integral Method Incorporated with Irregular-shape Elements for Navier-stokes Equations

A simple isoparametric geometry mapping is applied to incorporate irregular four-node quadrilateral elements into Modified Nodal Integral Method for the two-dimensional, time-dependent, incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The modified scheme has been applied to solve the twodimensional lid driven cavity problem with exact solution, solved over a sub-domain that necessitate non-rectangular e...
